Uniform and equipment
At the mobilisation in 1807, sergeant Qvernemoen
ordered the soldiers to bring this equipment and outfit:
"... kaskiet(skicap), Surtout
(greatcoat), 2 pair white trousers, 2 new shirts, 2 pairs new stockings, 2 pairs
ski boots, 2 pairs new summer shoes with buckles, both pairs gaiters, neck
stock, sabre and waist belt with frog, the best pair of birch skies and stick,
holster and leather rucksack, bread bag, necessary cleaning equipment etc."
later added:" the blue overall trousers, and of course woollen
gloves..."
The complete outfit would be:
The ski cap, the so-called "carpus",
recognized by the standing bill with the lion sign on the front. All outer parts
made of leather to make the cap more waterproof.

- The tunic, made of heavy wool fabric, was green
with black facings edged with white.

- Trousers made of white wool fabric for the
winter, grey or green trousers were probably used in the summer.

- Greatcoat of heavy grey wool fabric with yellow
collar with false pockets. A part of the older M1788 uniform, but still in
use 1807.
- Overall trousers, of blue wool fabric, buttoned
in the sides, making it possible to put on without taking off the skies.

- Laced skiboots of leather for use in the
winter
- Buckled shoes for use in the summer

- Gaiters, short, made of canvas for the summer, or
long, made of wool for the winter.

- Sabre, either modified grenadier sabre M1753 or
Ski soldier sabre M1787. Waistbelt with frog

- Musket, rifle or excercise gun

- Rucksack of smooth leather as described 1772.

- Skies and stick. In the sønnenfjellske ski
soldier batallion skies of uneven length were used.
